Mafia Island is part of Tanzania’s Mafia Archipelago, in the Indian Ocean. Large swaths of the island’s southern coastline and surrounding waters are protected by the Mafia Island Marine Park. Within the park are many coral reefs, home to wildlife such as whale sharks and sea turtles. In the south, beaches include secluded Ras Kisimani, just across from Bwejuu Island. Popular Utende Beach edges onto Chole Bay.
Day 1:
Airport/Hotel, Pick up from Dar es Salaam airport. Transfer to city center. 14h00 Afternoon depart from the hotel for a half day guided tour of Dar overnight at MOVENPICK ROYAL PALM (BB).
Day 2:
Dar es Salaam, 07h00 Breakfast. 07h30 Drive to Mikumi National Park for full day game drive. 12h30 Picnic lunch at one of the chosen sites 16h00 Return to Dar es Salaam. Dinner and overnight at MOVENPICK ROYAL PALM (HB).
Day 3:
Dar/ Mafia, Breakfast at leisure. 13h00 Transfer to Dar airport for your scheduled flight to Mafia at 15h00. 15h30 Pick up at Mafia airstrip then transfer to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at KINASI LODGE (HB).
Day 4 & 5:
Mafia Island, full days at leisure on the beach with optional water sports activities. Dinner and overnight at KINASI LODGE (HB).
Day 6:
Departure, breakfast at leisure. 15h00 Transfer to Mafia airstrip for your scheduled flight to Dar at 16h00. 16h30 Pick up at Dar International airport. Assistance to connect your International flight.
